Fearless Practitioner Training

Do you want to contribute to increased psychological safety in teams and organizations? And with that
-better results
-more learning
-increased engagement and
-improved work satisfaction?

Take this opportunity to get certified in The Fearless Organization Scan, a tool developed together with Dr Amy C. Edmondson to measure and develop psychological safety.

Psychological safety is all about feeling safe enough to express ideas that are not fully developed, sharing what is on our minds and daring to talk about failures without the fear of being criticised.

If you don't feel safe in a group, it is likely that you will keep your ideas to yourself and choose to remain silent instead of speaking up. If it also feels risky to share failures and mistakes then you will probably make a greater effort to avoid risks and missteps rather than to contribute in the best way possible.

High psychological safety affects several central areas in work life; results, engagement, work motivation, information sharing, well-being, learning and innovation. If you are interested in increasing any of these areas, it is a good idea to strengthen psychological safety.

Background

Amy C. Edmondson is a researcher at Harvard Business School and has since the 1990s connected psychological safety with high-performing teams and organizations. During the 2010s her research inspired Googles Project Aristotle, which confirmed that the 7 factors that define psychological safety were the common denominator for the most effective teams. The book "The Fearless Organization" was released in 2018 and the tool The Fearless Organization Scan is now helping leaders, HR and facilitators measure and develop psychological safety in teams and organizations.

Measure and develop psychological safety

Psychological safety is an important factor in order to succeed in a work life characterized by complexity, cooperation and the need for a collective effort. However, it can be difficult to build and create a common picture of psychological safety.

It has been shown that 60-70% of all leaders overestimate the level of psychological safety in teams. Also, we carry with us experiences from previous work places and teams which might influence our choices, even though they are not relevant in the environment we are right now.

To create a common view of the current situation, and from that define our goals and ways of reaching these goals, helps teams and leaders to develop.

From this Amy Edmondson together with The Fearless Organization Scan have created a tool that makes it easier for leaders, team and organizations to measure and develop psychological safety.

The tool is easy to use, flexible and scalable, and after the training you will be ready to help teams and organizations become more Fearless!
